Project Results, 1st Grade Senior High School of Gouves

««SUSTAINABLE ENERGY ACTIONS: REDUCTION OF ENERGY CONSUMPTION & INTRODUCTION OF RENEWABLE ENERGY RESOURCES»

The chart below, shows rates of final electric energy consumption, expressed as Kwh/m2, in 2010, in all high and senior high schools of Hersonissos Municipality. The Gouves High school, appears to be exceptionally energy consuming. Similar results are apparent from the Certificate of Energy Efficiency (Print 1). The building in question is categorized in class H, with an energy consumption rate of 387,4Kwh/m2 according to standards that is 3 times higher compared to reference building that is classified as B rate.

Chart: Final electric energy consumption in higher and senior higher schools in Hersonissos Municipality in 2010.

PROPOSED INTERVENTIONS

Scenario 1: Roof Insulation

Energy Saving: 10%

Scenario 2: Lighting

Current Situation:

1000 light bulbs Χ 18W=18KW

Standards for a High school =5,5 KW

Reduction of lighting in half.

500 light bulbs Χ 18W=9 KW

Following Intervention:

9 KWΧ7 hχ180 school days = 11.340KWh

Energy Saving: 15-20%
